Naming Children
This post's source material: http://news.aol.com/story/_a/judge-rejects-obscene-name-change/20080628104609990001
Scroll down to the little photo thing, and keep clicking 'next' until it gets to the '4 out of 7', about French naming.
Now, I know that this list is prolly a ba-jillion names long, from 'Aaron' to 'Zane', no doubt. But, the idea of parents having to choose their OWN CHILDREN'S names from a government (a democracy, with a 'pro-Western' prez) made list just urks me, you know? But, hey. Whatever.
It's not very often that you see a 15-year-old girl talking about democracy, but I'm just great. ;)
To lighten the mood: I was playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl with Kit yesterday, and there's this item that you can throw at people that attaches to them and emmitts a thick, annoying smoke all around them for a period of time. Well, she threw one at me, and said, "I'm sorry, this is a non-smoking area, I'm gonna have to ask you to leave." And then killed me. Sigh. So kind, so kind.
We also have a new secret handshake. I guess it won't be so secret anymore, but hey. Who cares? Let me first explain how it came it about. You won't get it if you don't watch Gossip Girl.
I was explain my thoughts on loyalty to Kit, and she remarked how I was like Blair, and in an eerie Blair-like voice imitated, "Loyalty is everything to me. I hate secrets." I laughed my head off.
So, now our handshake is this: We bump fists, I say (in eerie mock-Blair voice) 'Loyalty is everything', and she's like, 'I hate secrets', then I customarily die laughing everytime. It's very funny. Maybe it's a 'had-to-be-there' thing. Oh well. Anyway...
Much love.
Click My Dragons.

Then, if you could, press 'View' on all of them (just 4), I'd appreciate it. I was bored, and Kit does it, so I thought, 'Why not?'
So, guys, what's up? I myself am watching (channel) G4, (show) some Japanese game show. It's quite intesting. These guys are walking on their hands on this incredible obstacle course that I probably wouldn't be able to do on my two feet! Ugh. Anyway...
The question of the day:
If you were to choose one country you would want to live in (besides the one you're living in now), what would it be?
Mine would prob be Japan, because the people seem pretty nice. And it's a democracy, so that's nice.

...WOW.
I got this email today. I truly wonder if people ever believe these things. It's so stupid, and incredibly rude, to prey on the grief and tragedy that this horrific plane crash has caused. So stupid.
Anyway, party's over. Twas fun. We sat around, being girly, talking about things girls talk about, then, playing video games (such contrast, lol), then more talking. We stayed up til 7AM and got up at 2PM. Yeah, that's pretty sad, but it was worth it.
So, it was fun. I went home with Kit. Bye-ya.

Partay over here! Woot woot! Partay over there! Woot woo! NO WAIT! GET BACK OVER HERE, PARTAY!
Stayed up til about three yesterday. I discovered a few things.
American culture. Ah, how beautiful. But, it has it's downfalls. Like, when doing certain things can make one feel glorified. Like...
1. Pouring pills into your hand, even if it's just Advil, or Tylenol. And you know that you're only gonna take one or two. You just feel...cooler. And, when you realize it, it's a bit embarrassing, knowing the ridicularity (is that a word? XD) of the thought.
2. Drinking non-alcoholic drinks, like sparkling grape juice, that are in a bottle similar to that of a wine bottle. Swigging it, or putting it in one of those fancy champagne glasses makes you feel drunk, although there ain't a touch of alcohol in the stuff. It makes you feel, again, cooler.
3. Haha, chocolate cigarettes. Of course. This one's self-exclamatory, and ends the same way.
Well, that's all I can think of ATM, but you may judge, but I know it's not just me (probably not anyone over 21 though, lol). It's not a good or bad thing, but it happens, and culture, media, and society is the culprit. What can we do, huh? Well, anyway...
Good times.
Well, got to go. It's thundering here in sunny Florida, by the way.
OPINION QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What lengths will you go to avoid confrontation?
I don't ENJOY confrontation, but I won't make myself even MORE uncomfortable to avoid it, like physically hiding from a person. If I know it's inevitable, I'll just face it.
Wednesday, June 25, 2008
Wow. I'm a complete idiot.
Anyway, since yesterday's was so dark, I'll pick a rather happy one for today...
Which do you like better- Cake or Pie?
I like Pie better. Has more potential. :) Mmmm. Pie.
EDIT: Changed the background. Ah, Chair. (Blair and Chuck from the TV show Gossip Girl)
Music!
Right now: Mixdown- Holiday Parade
Love this band. Not very mainstream, but they will be! :) Anyway, I made a frightful typo (rather humerous backstory too), on the Blogs/Sites You Should Visit thing, so that's fix'd now. So, yar. Thanks again.
Kit's coming over because she was brazenly dropping hints on the phone. "I'm sooooo bored. I'M SOOO BORED." Yeah. So. Yeah.

Anonymous Commenters...oooh...scary.
I've changed the poll, as you all can see (hopefully), so you should vote. LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD...please. Lol.
Party's tomorrow, hurrah.
Me and my friend got into an argument about bands the other day. Because you really care, right?
Well, not too much else to say today. So, farewell.

An Opinion Question.
So, guys, how are you? Good, I hope. I'm changing the poll again today, so, hurrah for that! I tried advertising around some directories, etc., so hopefully I might get some new readers from that. If you came to this blog as a visitor, than feel free to comment! It's much appreciated. And, I'll even read your blog! How nice am I! Lol, jk, jk.
Partaaaay is in two days, y'all. What what! Anyway....
Not much to say today. Did a little exercise, cleaned the house, and OH! Cute Is What We Aim For came out with their new album today. I got 6 tracks off of it. I recommend 'Practice Makes Perfect', 'Doctor', and 'Miss Sobreity'. Good stuff, y'all. Good stuff.
Well, at the moment, I have...31, is it?, pages written of my book. It may not sound like a lot, but, seeing as my previous ventures only yielded about 2, it's a big accomplishment for me.
I think that's it. Keep reading, comment, vote, etc.
OPINION QUESTION OF THE DAY: How many perfect strangers would have to be at risk for you to die for them, and therefore, save them?
My answer: Probably around 2 or 3.
Monday, June 23, 2008
Hurrah for the 50th post!
Anyway, found a cool blog (http://ordinarysuperstar.blogspot.com/), by going to a cool site (http://www.43things.com/). So, yeah. Awesome.
I tried mastering bicycle crunches today. They were hard :(
I also got invited to the mall today (the second time in the past two days), but I don't have a ride, and I, honestly, don't want to go. I don't understand what would possess someone to make them desperate to go to the mall every freakin' day of the week. Argh.
Well, I'm looking foward to my get-together this Thursday. Should be fun...I hope.
Also, I'm debating if I want to have a quincenara (the fifteenth b-day in most Spanish countries are the equivalent to the American 'sweet sixteen', where extravagant parties are thrown [for girls, not guys, sorry], to show the coming of age in the culture) or not. I sort of do, because I want to be true to my (half) Puerto Rican heritage, but then, I don't because I feel more American, and I don't have many Latin friends, or family that lives in Florida that can conceivably come. So, it'd basically be a Puerto-Rican themed Sweet Sixteen, a year early. Hm. I think I'll just wait.
I set up a playlist on the site http://www.slacker.com/ but now I can't access it. It loads half-way, then freezes up! Does it happen to you? Or is it just me?! ARGH.
Anyway, I think that's all for now, folks.
edge.wright4@yahoo.com
EDIT: Like, 5 minutes after this post, my friends called from the mall, and they said that they saw MY MORTAL ENEMY (Alexis, is her name) and her boyfriend there. So, I made the right choice of not going. Not that I could. But, I'm glad I'm not there, someone would have been in trrrrrooooouuuble. Or, the trip would have been ruined. Or both. Probably both.
Anyway, thanks for reading.
PostSecret
postsecret.blogspot.com
To explain it in a few words, it's a site (there's books too) where people mail hand-made (or hand-editted, whatever) postcards ANONYMOUSLY with a secret that they want to get off their chest to this person to post it, and that person puts it on this web. Some are funny, and some, I find, are quite inspirational. Some have corresponding stories, and others don't. If they have stories, I'll be sure to include them.
To show my support of this site, every week, I'm gonna try and comment on some of these (my comments'll be distinguished in some way from the other text) 'secrets'. :) Have fun reading them, and thanks for reading my blog! I guess I'll start today.
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4P6z0WmNL-GqudOi7ae1nDszyAUSDoRK7bPJ-Gf2NbFtd96BCYItkj0LC2NPatoHmtkVSwRizVKI9FEbtZYyonTLhlYqirEpdamGFcAWXYaBoArBvAnv60-IhAVzFsKPBH2ttGkImE5Q/s1600-h/TWLOHA.jpg
(Sorry, tried to upload the image, but it didn't work. Just click the link, it works.)
"i tried to write down one of my secrets on a post-it-note and leave it in public for someone to find. i got this bout of inspiration after reading the latest
postsecret book. i left the bookstore and parked at a nearby grocery store to write down my secret.
while i was writing it, a cop pulled up to my car. i told him that i had my head down because i was writing, and he asked to see what i was writing, so i showed him.
he let me go."
I found this the most moving of the bunch. It sort of lets you know that even though we, as humans, judge other people relentlessly, that we still hold sympathy and encouragement as values, sometimes. That wasn't a very good comment, but I really can't find the words that of what I'm trying to express.
(It ain't letting me do pics today, y'all, so just keep a' clicking)
Haha, this one's a little funny, and makes me a little more wary now of that teenage guy at the front desk of our hotel that so kindly gives us directions, lol.
This one's pretty dark, but it does make you think. It strikes me particularly, because just earlier today (or yesterday, technically) I was reading the newspaper, and looked through the obituaries, particularly for young deaths. It's very sobering.
This one doesn't give much of an explanation, but those of you who know my current love life situation, can understand why this particularly strikes me. I've experienced jealosy like this before (if it IS jealousy that the sender is speaking of).
"When I was three, my mom would tell my brother and me that we could make the stoplight turn green if we blew the red one out like a birthday candle.
Once, my grandfather was in the car and we got to a red light, and my brother and I started blowing at the red light. He thought we were having asthma attacks, and my mom explained everything. At the next light he did it with us.
He died a few months later, and this is the only memory I have of him. I'm 18 now, and I still mentally try to blow out stoplights."
I'll just speak of the postcard's message first. I thought this was pretty cool (even though, most of the time, life don't work that way), partially because of the story showing that the kid would give up everything (even his special powers :) ) to preserve his parents happiness. Food for thought.
Ha! This one made me really laugh out loud, I gotta try this sometime! Lol.
Well, that's the PostSecret talk this week. I'll continue blogging normally until they change again. I'd like to hear y'all's feedback on today's message, if you liked the idea, didn't like, whatever, k? Thanks.
Foo' Gold, yo.
And, I also watched hours worth of Olympic Trials (I was a couch-potato today :( ). I love the Olympics, really do. Brings the country and the world together. Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I watched Men and Women's Diving (most of the men were hot, but they should substitute the Speedos for trunks. Please.), and Women's Gymnastics. Sorry, Brits (and rest of the world), but I really, really think that Shawn Johnson is really gonna kick whatever you bring to the table's ass. She's really, really good. Anyway, GO TEAM USA!
For those of you who know of my novel, I wrote QUITE a bit yesterday, hurrah. And, I'm writing more tonight. More hurrah.
Well, Mile Monday is tomorrow, planning on exercising a bit. So, that'll make up for my potato-ness today, hopefully.
Much love, yo.

Wow. I really don't know French.
Anyway, for those of you who know I'm attempting at writing a novel, I wrote the last page yesterday. So, I know how it starts, and how it will end, now, I just need the middle, lol. I'm tryin' here!
June 26-27, I'm throwing a party with a few of my friends, for no good reason! You're all invited! Oh wait...nevermind, lol. Well, if you happen to be in town, swing by! xD
Then, on the first of July, to the eighth (for those of you incapable of reading numbers: 1-8), I'm visiting South Carolina, and staying with my grandparents. Prolly going down to the lake, and such. Whatever. Then, from there, my sister's gonna pick me up, and I'm gonna go and stay with them for a week or so, and la-di-da.
Well, that's all for now, folks.
edge.wright4@yahoo.com
P.S. I added a new blog to the side there, so check it, yo.

YARGITY-YARG-YARG-YARG.
And this, my friends, is PERZA. Mayor of Cabo Rojo. And the butt of every joke I've made in the past week. You know how some people do the Chuck Norris joke stuff? Well, I do the Perza jokes.
We encountered sand fleas on one beach, sunburn on another, but we had fun. There were 4 foot (A meter and a thirdish for the Brits :) ) fish in my backyard.
I discovered the wonderful game Hitman. So much fun. Rent it sometime, y'all. It's worth it.
We payed $6 a ticket to go on a ferry ride to see The Fluorescent Bay (supposedly filled with glowing fish). All I saw, honey, were about 3 glowing dots in passing. Yeah. And, I went up a deck, to see the upstairs, and when I was coming back down (mind you, the stairs were wet), I slipped on the bottom three steps, and my mom SCREAMED. Didn't help. Yelled. I got up about half a milisecond later, LMAO. My sister was practically crying it was so funny. Maybe you had to be there. :)
So, we were ripped off, but it was my niece's first boat ride, so that was nice.
Well, we drove back, and stuff. I got 4 hours of sleep (had to get up at 4:45 for the plane), but I'm operating just fine. Well, I'm about to go to the mall. Bye!

Hiya!
And, so...nothing much else. Summer laziness. Kit's over. Looking for a site to download movies and TV shows for free, so if you know of one, peas tell meh.
Oh, and I'll be gone from Friday, for like a week. Sorry about that, goin' to Puerto Rico with the fam. So, I'll try and post tomorrow, if not, sowwy. Much love, y'all.

So, what's up, peeps?
Getting a bunch of good reviews on the fanfic. Hurrah!
But, on a low note, got in a bit of a spat with my friend Tierney today. I mean, we're cool, but I'm a bit frustrated with her. Oh well, I'm sure we'll get over it.
So, tuda-loo (sp).

[beep][beep][beepity-beep]
In other news...the Mole came on yesterday. It was awesome. I have no clue who the Mole is yet, but I'm sure I'll have some theories by next episode.
Er, I think that's it...

First day of...June.
I went to church, picked up Kit, and headed to the mall with Tierney, Taylor, and Laurel. It was fun. We got kicked out of a store because we were sitting on a couch without trying stuff on. These good times. Well, we hung out somemore, then me and Kit went to my house, and are currently chilling, watching the pilot episode of Gossip Girl. Best show ever.
Tomorrow, my favorite show ever, which so horrifically went off the air, The Mole, comes back on. So, that's what I'll be doing. If you have never heard of it, then look it up Wikipedia. It's good stuff.
Well, I don't think I'll change the poll just yet.
